It can feel like the world is closing in on you. Self-help has not accomplished much and neither just talking about anything to therapist(s) and/or friend(s). Perhaps, after some time, you find yourself back to square one: Not getting the results that you wanted or had expected. “Talking about stuff” can be helpful, yet it is not a “cure-all” and has several proven limitations.
Life is more than surviving.
Learn to manage your mind, emotions, and problematic habits instead of them managing you. There are healthier ways to relate to yourself and others. Rewrite those negative past events and narratives that constantly intrude in your mind as they’re stored as disturbing memories. Work on reducing symptoms—not just managing them. There are newer therapy methods that help to access the unconscious mind and body to help uproot and reduce such trauma-related symptoms as PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and depression – even addiction.

This is essential communication that is at the core of collaborating with others in a manner that we can enjoy and respect our differences and our similarities.

I go beyond simply listening to you: I may educate, challenge your distressing thinking styles, teach skills, practice them in and between therapy sessions. In practicing therapy, I take a trauma-informed integrative approach that includes EMDR therapy, IFS, IFS-Informed EMDR, and attachment-, somatic-, and mindfulness-focused interventions to help people heal from trauma in a holistic, long-lasting manner. EMDR therapy is scientifically proven effective therapy that helps to access and heal the mind at its unconscious level, too, and this typically, this brings much quicker, longer lasting healing than just talk therapy.
